The faculty of students' welfare coordinates all the other faculties and establishes link among these. This faculty provides essential guidance, help, counselling to all students of University irrespective of their faculties. The faculty fully takes care of the welfare of students and works in the interests of students of the university. The incharge of faculty i.e., Dean is assisted by seven Assistant Deans. The office of Dean, Students Welfare (D.S.W.) is located in the Srinagar Campus of University. In the Pauri and Tehri Campuses there are representatives of D.S.W., called Assistant Deans Students Welfare (ADSW). They work under Principals of the Campuses.

The following duties come under the purview of faculty of Students' Welfare

• To help students in choosing their subjects/subject combinations in difference courses.

• To help students in their difficulties in getting admissions to different courses.

• To help students in searching their residence for stay in the city during their study periods.

• To help them in their meal arrangements whether in city or in Hostels.

• To help them in getting medical facilities, wherever required.

• To help them in making short term plannings for other qualifications along with their regular courses.

• To provide them economic help whenever needed.

• To provide the students Railway fare concessions.

• To help and guide the students in pursuing for getting higher education abroad.

• To provide the students career counselling.

• To monitor physical education teacher.

• To monitor Medical officer of the University.

• To monitor, Incharge/programme officer, National Service Scheme.

• To perform duties assigned by Executive Council or Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The following does the following usual works regularly-

• Printing and distribution of Prospectus and Admission forms of the three campus of the University.

• Organization of Cultural Programmes of all colleges (inter college) at the campus.

• Promotion/sponsoring to students of University for participated in Regional, State, National, International level sports/games.

• Publication of students' yearly magazine of University.
